Not for Rednecks Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I guess I'm just a mumbling redneck. Voice recognition software is still a few years off, even on high end computers with the latest software. It may be even further away for small devices requiring small programs. I downloaded v 2.0 with high hopes on improvement over v 1, (which was completely worthless). Version 2 might be better, but it is a long way from functional, at least for this reviewer who grew up in the South, has been accused of mumbling by everyone who deals with him, and whose accent is alway mis-identified as a "Texa-homa" or similar accent. However, speaking as plainly, slowly, and clearly as possible I have yet to make a phone call on the first try. For example, I just tried "Call Katie" and got call Nicole Jones. When asked if this was correct, I very plainly, slowly, and clearly said "no", and got "there is no listing for 'home'." I promise I didn't say "naw", it was a very clear "no". So I can't tell you how this works in other parts of the country or the world, but in Northern Alabama, for this redneck at least, version 2 will not be waisting the 5% of my internal memory that this program takes up on my Treo 650. Pros: The side button activation worked well; and it didn't require tedious set up via voice-training of the software - though this might be a con.

I find it very difficult to initiate my call while driving then using the bluetooth technology to complete the call. I might as well go ahead and do everything manually.
Can not use 911 or bluetooth Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have used the Trio Voice Dialing, by VoiceDail/VoiceSignal for several months now. The voice recognition is excellent. When you speak clearly, even unusual/complex names are regularly recognized - with absolutely no training! However, the software will not recognize number combinations less than 7 digits - such as 411 or 911! It is also useless with a bluetooth headset unless you manually activate it on your trio first. This makes no sense at all. You might as well dial by hand which, sadly, makes it only average and I can only use it occasionally.
