Photogenics for Pocket PC is based directly on the high end Windows and Linux versions of the software, but packaged with a friendly user interface specifically designed for the smaller screen size. As a result, Photogenics has an incredible amount of breadth and sophistication for a PDA application. Requirements
Photogenics works well on almost all Pocket PC devices, including the Compaq iPAQ, Casio Cassiopeia, HP Jornada, and Palmax Amigo. The HP Jornada 525 is not recommended due to it only displaying 256 colours. 1.5MB of storage space is required for installation, and 2MB of program memory is required to run. Editing large images will require additional amounts of memory, from 0.5MB for 240x320 images, 2.1MB for 640x480, 6MB for 1024x768, 13MB for 1600x1200, up to 21.5MB for 2048x1536. In digital camera terms, you will need roughly 7MB per mega-pixel.

Limited image type support

on Oct 12, 2004 - Photogenics looks like the best PPC graphics format, but it does not support enough image formats. The program supports layers, but does not support the PSD or TIFF format. It mentions in the help that PNG is a better format then GIF, but does not support it.

Good product, a few flaws

on Aug 18, 2003 - Photogenics is a very ambitious program, trying to bring an innovative drawing/picture editing software on the PPC platform. It does quite well, and has some incredible features (like its managing of layers and some very nice neon-like brushes), but sadly suffers from a few bugs. Not showstoppers, but definitely annoying bugs (like the impossibility to draw a filled eclipse). It seems that the designers are working on a new version that will fix the problems, though.

Great program but it has a few flaws

on Jun 24, 2003 - Really nice for editing and sizing digital pictures. Very easy to work with once you get the hang of how it works. However, one of the paint tools doesn't work well. The fill ellipse tool will not make an ellipse. Emailed Idruna five times over three weeks and never got a response. Also, there are limited brushes, unlike Pocket Artist, for which you can download many brushes/textures.
