If you have taken your auto navigation system into the woods you probably realized that it becomes more of a paper weight than a navigation device. Without roads most cannot function. That is why you may need off-road navigation software.
Get insight in your current situation by means of a large compass, a speed, altitude, slope and even a G-force meter. Edit your favorite Points Of Interest (POIs). Navigate to your POIs or along a track assisted by spoken voice! See the track you are traveling, you travelled before, and/or downloaded from internet (in GPX format). Analyze tracks or export them to MS Excel. Convert any location to the many supported Grids, Zones, and/or Datums for cartographic purposes.
Tracky supports online GoogleMaps so that you have full and free access to satellite, street, and hybrid maps, everywhere you go! Maps will be dynamically downloaded if your PocketPC has internet access. You can also cache these maps offline at home while still enjoying them when you are out. You can also import and calibrate maps of your own.
You can follow your buddies on your PDA and chat with them. You can also follow them on your PC, just check out TrackMe to see who is online right now!
Tracky supports address-to-address navigation. It is not as fancy as in TomTom or Garmin, but it works, while you can still enjoy the many features these systems lack! You have access to various online databases to search for nearby businesses, geo-caches, Wikipedia entries, photos, and weather stations.

on Jan 26, 2008 - I have tried a number of GPS applications, and this one is the coolest. For two main reasons. The "TrackMe" feature allows me to share my location. My family can follow me real-time using internet explorer (Google Map interface). I use it especially when I travel or visit new places. Another excellent feature is the ability to choose between online Google map (with internet connection; GPRS, Wifi) or locally-stored map. Excellent product!!!

on Jan 1, 2008 - The best GPS app available. This one does everything from the basics (making tracks and points) through to live map downloads from GM. There is even a virtual training partner to keep you in shape. Add to this importing almost any image a nd calibrate it as a map, convert coordinates and analyse your tracks, and communicate with your friends online through the mobile phone network (not for us Aussies though, our networks suck) you cannot do better.

on Dec 17, 2007 - I take using the program but of a month and have to say that it has been very useful in special because I travel so much by the world and often the cities that I visit there are no navigation programs. It is very useful to score sites key before the trip (hotel, clients, restaurants, etc) and soon once to have already all the maps of the city unloaded of google there to be able to orient itself. Another thing that I value very much is the support that occurs of the application and that seems to me impressive nonsingle the aid but that it asks the registered users ideas and they are going away to implement. An exceptional product, useful and that in addition can be used for multitude of occasions.
