SCREENSHOTS

DCC Send: What do I need to send files ...

For sending files, you need access to a DCC relay proxy. This proxy allows you to send files even when your phone's internet connection passes one or more network address translators (NAT.)
There is a demo proxy gateway configured with WirelessIRC, but without any support and without guaranteed availability! Use is on your own risk!
You can operate your own DCC relay proxy for WirelessIRC!
Download this Java 1.4 source code, compile and install it on a computer which is connected to the internet without a NAT and firewall. Then configure WirelessIRC to use this computer's hostname and DCCrelay port.

This is one of them applications for your s60 nokia that was the reason why you went from standard s40 (and the likes) phones and to a phone with a bit of a brain! For anyone not familiar to IRC, it stands for Internet Relay Chat; it's a form of chat room service with endless rooms (well over 100,000) and millions of users, you can create your own channel (room) simply by joining a channel that is not currently created. Now about the program (Version 1.82 on Nokia s60) This is by far the best use of the symbian operating system that I have used to date (currently well over 350 applications tested or paid for), it connects exactly as it should, performs normal commands perfectly, has the keys configured exactly how they should (e.g. pressing in the center of the navigation pad instantly goes to the bottom of the page for when you have been reading back through the conversation, pressing any number key opens the message window, etc.) WirelessIRC handles any mobile related problems like a dream, it has an extensive setup menu should you want to change anything about the program, it has never given me any problems since I purchased it 2 months ago, it is now almost constantly being used on my phone, it works in the background and will generate whatever sound (or none at all) that you want when there is activity in the channel, it also displays the name of the channel that has activity over your operator logo for a brief period of time, its DCC file browser is very handy for sharing files from your phone to your pc if you have an IRC app on the pc and don?t have any form of connecting them (like Bluetooth or whatever) I could go on about this product for a few pages, but I think you have already got the picture as it is.
Just the best IRC client for S60 mobile phones! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

From the moment I launched this application for the first time I was sure I was in front of a serious piece of software. WirelessIRC (in its v1.82 in my 6600) is fast, efficient, and reliable. It works as advertised and you'll have tons of fan in IRC with it. The GPRS traffic counter on top is paramount for mobile connections and the developers took a good initiative placing it in such a visible place. Kudos to MobileWays for this awesome small app in the right price. :-)

I agree with all the other reviews, but i feel the lack of remembering the key for a +k channel. If it get's this addon within 14 days, they've got a new customer ;-)
