The Today Plugin which gives your Pocket PC an attitude!

The vast majority of our customers want both weather and stocks on their Today screen. However, we did have some requests for just one or the other. That is why we made Stocks Today and Weather Today. These applications allow users to pay for just the functionality that they need. stock functionality is available in demo mode only. If you purchase Weather Today and later want the entire functionality of Stocks And Weather Today then all you have to do is purchase the Stocks Today key. You will then have all the functionality of Stocks And Weather Today (however, it is much less expensive to purchase a Stocks And Weather registration key).

Attention! Due to numerous requests, we have added the weather theme capability (which is available in Stocks And Weather Today) to Weather Today. To enable this functionality, you must purchase a 'Theme Enablement' registration key and also download our free weather Theme Pack. Weather Theme capability will cause the application to display a weather related theme which matches the weather for either your primary city or the current city that is being displayed.

WeatherToday is actually 3 applications built into 1. 

1. Weather Application: Monitor the weather for up to 6 cities right on your today screen.
2. Stock Application (demo mode only): Monitor up to 60 stocks right on your today screen.
3. Theme Switcher (demo mode only): Automatically display a theme which matches the current weather outside.

 However, the registration key for WeatherToday will only allow the weather application to run. Theme switching and stocks will operate in demo mode only.

Weather Functionality (static icons being shown)

• Monitor the weather for up to 6 cities (US and international)

•     Track US city by zip code (80020) or city, st (e.g., Denver, CO)

•     Track International city by selecting country name from a list followed by cities from a secondary list. No need to know postal codes or longitude/latitude of the city.

• Get multi day forecast information.

• Get detailed weather information via a single tap.

• Get hazardous weather alerts (US cities only).

• Display local time of day for each city being tracked.

•     Ability to turn off the local time.

• Go directly to NOAA to get extremely detailed information (including current radar images)

• Configure the application to automatically display a theme which matches the weather outside.

•     Fully configurable. You can specify how often the theme is changed or turn theme switching off entirely.

•     Over 100 weather related themes are available for free (see below).

Other notable capabilities

• Works seamlessly behind firewalls.

•     Automatically detects proxies and configures itself.

•     Option to manually override proxy detection.

• Ability to control how long each city is displayed.

• Works seamlessly with both wireless (e.g., 802.11) connections and ActiveSync connections.

• Ability to specify how much Today screen real estate is used.

•    Only show current weather.

•    Only show forecast information.

•    Show both current weather and forecast information (default setting).

• Ability to control how often application goes to the Internet to update data.

•    Specify to not update weather information between certain hours of the day.

•    Specify how often application goes to the Internet to get weather data.

Trial version is fully functional. However, after a period of time, cities will revert to preset values and theme switching will be turned off. Once a valid license key is entered your city information will be restored (no need to re-enter the data).

We have tested in lots of network configuration. However, before purchasing, please verify it works in your networking environment.

Click here to download 100+ themes (be sure you are sync'd with your PPC before installing running the file). FYI, 100+ themes require about 5 meg. on your Pocket PC. If you do not wish to have theme switching enabled then you don't need to download & install the themes. The application will work just fine without them. In order for theme switching to work, you need to also purchase a theme registration key.

Great product!

Not only does the product provide fast and detailed weather information, it also looks great. When I had a question, the support staff was both responsive and helpful. I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Great firewall support

This program works great with firewalls. All of the other Today weather plugins fail when trying to retieve information behind my company's firewall but this one works no problem. Only four stars because I would like to see a smaller, tighter display to take up less space on the Today screen. A "compact" view would be great. I suggest instead of displaying BOTH the stocks and the weather have an option to display one at a time and then manually page between them.

Missing International Cities

Loved the product. Easy.... however: where did you get your list of international cities. For example, in Mexico, you do not even offer the option for the 3 largest cities: Mexico City, 2) Guadalajara, and 3) Monterrey. Seems like someone didn't review the database of cities.
