Physicians need a better way to track and manage patient data. The solution is PatientKeeper Personal, PatientKeeper's handheld patient management tool. With it, physicians will enjoy reduced paperwork, improved productivity, and faster access to critical patient information. Over 50,000 physicians have already adopted this unique PatientKeeper solution.

  • Comprehensive Patient Information

With PatientKeeper Personal, physicians can capture and sort patient information quickly and easily during rounds. For example, caregivers can record basic patient information, admission diagnoses, patient histories, daily progress notes, and lab results; track medications being taken by patients at home and in the hospital; even set alarms for reminders.

  • Effective Patient Management

PatientKeeper Personal lets physicians prioritize and categorize patient problems and associate each problem with a care plan. They also can create to-do items to keep track of what each patient needs. PatientKeeper Personal even automatically generates a to-do item when a "pending" lab order is created.

  • Intuitive User Interface

PatientKeeper Personal was designed by physicians, for use by physicians. That means the tool follows standard processes and procedures. Icons along the bottom of each screen allow easy navigation between tasks. In addition, physicians can enter information electronically in the formats they commonly use. For example, lab data such as CBC and Chem-7 results can be presented in shorthand diagrams.

  • Fast Data Entry

PatientKeeper Personal relies predominantly on pop-up lists, check-boxes, and multiple-choice items to enable data entry with only a few taps of the stylus. In addition, a built-in notepad enables physicians to capture handwritten comments.

  • Customization of Information

With PatientKeeper Personal, physicians can customize text boxes, shortcuts, and categories to ensure that they easily capture the information they need. For example, additional categories can be added to reflect a user's inpatients, outpatients, and consults. In addition, physicians are able to choose which information, such as tests or vital statistics, will be included in printouts.

  • Easy Sharing of Information

Using PatientKeeper Personal, physicians can send patient information to any other physician using a Palm OS-based device with an infrared port. As a result, physicians can expedite information transfer to covering physicians during sign-out and can quickly provide a consulting physician with the information he or she needs before a patient visit. Information can also be printed using PalmPrint for inclusion in medical charts or can be transferred to a desktop PC's notepad for use in other reports.

  • Easy Start-up

PatientKeeper Personal runs on any handheld device running Palm OS version 3.0 or greater. Simply register and download PatientKeeper Personal and you're up and running.

Outstanding inpatient pt tracking Palm program Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The first review for this program is unfortunate. I've used this program through 2 years of residency, and now in practice. You can do entire H&P's on it and then keep running tables of labs and vitals, or just enter the basic info for patient lists and billing. The labs are set up in the same graphic format that they would be written into the chart, and use a "keypad" on their screens so you don't even have to do Graffiti. Most of the H&P items utilize user-customizable pop-up menus, for point-tap entry, with a minimum of writing. With the infrared printing feature, on my Cardiology rotation I could admit a patient through the ER, and have a complete printed H&P on the chart by the time they hit the Cath suite door (in 20-30 minutes or less). Now I mostly use it for keeping track of ER and inpatients for billing, by outputting the "Checkout List" to a memo which I e-mail to our biller. However, I still track labs, vitals, studies, consults, on my more complex patients with PtKeeper. The only minor drawbacks are lack of recent updates, lack of specific billing info tracking, and an occasional menu item may (rarely) freeze the machine, preventing a 5-star rating.

Superb for Medium - Long Term Hospital Inpatient Management Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After stuffing around with alternatives come to use 4 software utilities as patient trackers. 1) Wardwatch - for Nights/Emergency - where you only have time for a snapshot of a given patient and a good task itemiser/sorter. 2) HanDbase - a completely configurable self-made database creator with desktop capacity which I have set up to allow for on-the-fly pages about patients who need to be admitted overnight or who need canula placement and so on. 3) Patient Keeper. As a management tool for medium (> 5 days) to longer term management of patients - this is an excellent choice. Days of results in all lab categories can be easily accessed for a given patient or for an entire ward of patients...and so on. As a detailed (but easy to use and very customisable) patient tracker it is consequently uinsuitable for the rapid data entry required for nights and emergency type settings. Get it if you work on wards and manage patients over 3 - 5 days or more. 5) BugMe Messenger - sometimes if data has to be entered really really quickly - handwriting is the only way to go - with later transfer into HanDbsase or PT or WW.
