Performance:
- External Memory - Store your Databases on a memory card on devices running Palm OS v4.0 or higher.
- Quick Search Feature - Specify a field that is quickly searched just by writing the first few letters in the list view.
- Filters - supports 6 different criteria. Version 4.0 supports floating date filters for date fields (eg, this week, tomorrow,etc)
- Cross-platform Compatibility - HanDBase databases will work without any changes on the Palm OS, Pocket PC/Windows Mobile, Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile Smartphone versions of HanDBase. A BlackBerry client is also available.

- Alarm Feature- offers users the flexibility to set reminders from within HanDBase, plus the added benefit to add a DateBook entry.

Field Types:

on Nov 5, 2003 - I had the same experience with the desktop companion generating errors. However, after trying the competition I really decided that this was the one for me. I contacted customer support and they were wonderful. It took us a couple of days but we resolved the error messages and even determined some other things that were not handdbase causing the errors! They have been open about everything and have left the door open in case I have and other problems. It is running like a dream now. I would advise anyone who has problems to communicate and work with the developer.

Easy to use and many free applets

on Jul 1, 2003 - I find this the easiest to use database I have tried. The price is right, and there are applets available for just about everything. I have easily created my own databases also. I must say that I have not had any problems with the desktop version - all works fine for me.

Dekstop Application Problematic

on Jul 27, 2002 - After entering 138 records in the Desktop Application, and saving every 10 records or so, the program was generating errors - though I could continue entering data. After the third error I could not exit the program without being prompted to save the file. I kept saving the file, though the prompt continued. The database was lost when I exited the desktop application. The PocketPC application seems as stable as the last version I ran on my Palm and then my PocketPC after moving to that platform. However - the instability in the dektop application makes me glad I downloaded the demo and didn't buy it based upon past performance.
