An essential working tool! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

There are a number of good note takers for the Palm OS, but Meteor is proving to be the one that really suits all my needs. I spend a fair bit of time on the road servicing several sites within our Health Services organisation, and have to deal with 'on the run' requests all the time. A versatile note taker is an essential working tool. The ability to organise my notes in folders for each department within each site is ideal. Meteor allows me to display these folders in a classic directory 'tree' and also display a flag to show how many outstanding tasks/notes I have within each folder. I have an immediate visible prompt whenever I enter Meteor, the 'drag and drop' function makes organisation easy! The registered version provides all the functionality I need, and makes my PDA even more valuable. The proposed desktop option will be the icing on the cake!
Will be an excellent product when improvements are made. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

When I discovered this program, I was going to buy it immediately, however I'm still using the trial version. The reason to that is simple - the product is raw in terms of usability and needs improvements. I planned to use this program as a perfect solution for my card-keeping. I store my thoughts, ideas, useful information on a number of topics in small memos (cards) and then unite them under different folders. Due to limitations of the built-in memo application I wasn't able to fully utilize Palm for such a task, so Meteor was meant to be a perfect file cabinet, as one of previous reviewers mentioned, - with unlimited folders and subfolders and with any number of memos inside. But try to create 7 or more sub-folders and you will not be able to see the last ones because there is no such a thing as horizontal scrolling or word hyphenation. Hence the main advantage of unlimited number of folders becomes useless. Moreover, what is the main advantage of any paper document, a book or, as in my case, a file cabinet? It is its immediate observability, meaning that I can get a general idea of what a certain folder or a drawer contains by just looking at it. In Palm this can be achieved by utilizing advantages of HiRes screen, that is by using smaller font sizes than are available as standard, what one can find in many programs (e.g. Agendus). Unfortunately here I don't have such 'luxury' and have to guess what 3-5 first letters in the name of a 11th sub-folder could mean. And this is not a hypothetic situation - human brain copes better with 7 +/- 2 things at the same time, so if you have quite a number of small memos you'll have to create sub-folders and in the end 11th sub-level will not look that weird to you. Yes, I can use the search function instead of guessing (which is a great advantage of electronic format over paper), but it is BROWSING, not searching for specific information, which is of primary interest for me in card-keeping. Search function is available from the built-in memo application and only one folder - the one called Unfilled, is well enough for that. So to sum up, I only put 3,5 stars to this program and hope that the developer will take the above mentioned into consideration. It will become an excellent product as soon as these issues are resolved.

This is an EXCELLENT program. I also downloaded the Meteor Desktop which is good for typing long memos into. You can cut and paste long Word docs into the Desktop without that annoying warning you get with the Palm Desktop. The size of the memos you can store is an awesome 32k. I took some memos that I had to split up into Parts 1, 2 & 3 due to the 4k limit and combined them into one long scrolling memo. It's like having Windows on the Palm OS system using folders and sub folders. I purchased this within a few hours after trying the demo. Had to have it!
