Adequate with room for improvement

on Dec 28, 2008 - I have an old Magellan Roadmate that I like a lot but wanted something that will run on my Blackberry so I can cut down on the junk I carry on business trips. The Garmin Mobile has fewer features, but what is most annoying is that the map does not display the distance to the destination nor are the cross streets that are being approached always labelled - at least on the free trial version. There are also some annoying issues in retrieving the map after the phone goes to sleep (due to security setting) or when a call is made. Of course it has many good qualities, too - the directions are accurate and take into account prevailing traffic and the voice is amazingly natural sounding. The visual display is also very clear and legible. I am still debating whether to purchase it, but it seems like the only one on the market for the Blackberry.
