Nice, but has limitations

on Jul 5, 2005 - I bought this primarily to use for [another program]. For some reason it just seems more natural to read an e-book in landscape mode than in portriat mode. But, there are two limitations that I have noticed. 1. As noted in other reviews, you need to reset your device every time you switch orientation. 2. Some programs have a fixed vertical orientation that requires 320 pixels. When you try to use such programs in landscape mode, they simply spill off the "bottom" of the screen, and there seems to be no way of scrolling to read the rest of the screen. The second issue is very annoying when it comes to visual pop-up reminders. The "Dismiss" button on those reminders cannot be accessed in portriat mode, and the reminder stays on top of every other application until that button is pressed. Thus, if you're using landscape mode when you receive a reminder, the only way to shut it off is to reset the device, dismiss the reminder, and then reset it back into landscape mode.

on Feb 9, 2004 - I'm glad I did a trial on this, because it's not exactly what I was after. Technically, it's good, but not the 'one key switch to landscape' function I need for wp or spreadsheet work - though maybe that's not even possible.

on Jun 13, 2003 - You have to restart the computer wheny you want to switch modes. Unless you are ok with haveing a streached image that looks like a55.
