treeTime
- by Coversoft

Changes at 1.2 Version 1.2 has fixed problems with 24 hour clock formats that showed up when editing events or saving files to CSV. Also fixed is and occasional error raised when opening a treeTime database.
Changes at 1.1 treeTime 1.1 uses an XML data store to save task and time data. This has resulted in a significantly simpler and smaller install file, and removed the need to install SQLCE database server on your PocketPC.
treeTime is the easiest, fastest and most flexible way to record time against clients, projects, tasks, etc.
Tasks are defined in a tree structure to whatever level suits the way you do business. You might place customers at the highest level, followed by projects, tasks, sub-tasks and so on.
Any time you spend on your customers and projects can be recorded with a single touch of a button.
Forget the inflexible and complex solutions you have tried in the past. This one is fast, easy, reliable, and ultimately flexible.
With treeTime you can also edit, move and delete tasks, edit any time recorded against them, even add new timing events if you forgot to start the timer or left your PocketPC at home.
You can quickly and easily switch between timing events at another touch of the button, so if that phone rings when you are working on one client, you can quickly and easily switch your timer over to the new client.
At the end of the month, or whenever you decide, you simply export your tasks to a CSV file, and move them over to your desktop for the generation of timesheets, accounts, or whatever you need.
If treeTime lets you bill just a couple of hours against customers that you would have otherwise forgotten, it will pay for itself in the first month!
Try it free, or buy it and stop missing out on time you should be billing.
Runs on any PocketPC2000/2002/2003 supported by the .NET Compact Framework.
If you have never installed the .NET Compact Framework on your device, you can get it from Microsoft

One of those rare, perfect, programs

on Jun 2, 2007 - Everything in complex in nature works because it is based on combinations of essentially simple constructs. So it is with Tree Time. After you spend 15-20 minutes with the program you realize it now thinks the way you think, transforms a one time dilligent effort into a permanent work architecture. I noticed it not only allowed but encouraged me to impress the actual organization of my varied consulting efforts for divergent clients onto its structure. No bloat, no fluff, no 'think this way', no useless features - simply a map of what one does, as precise or as general as you need.

on Mar 8, 2005 - treeTime stands out due to its simple interface, program speed, intuitive design, and quick support. The other high ranking competitors within the same category had unintuitive, cumbersome (multi-screen), entry in addition to running slow. The treeTime timer runs even when the device is turned off or reset! I received a support response within the same day.

Very good, but doesn't work with 24h clock

on Jul 3, 2004 - This programme was exactly what I wanted to be able to track my work activities. It is very easy to set up and amend a branching tree of categories and time them, and toanalyse the results in excel. The only problem I had was that the current verion (June 2004) assumes you are working with AM / PM time, and doesn't work if you have your PPC set to use 24h clock.
