PhatNotes for Outlook Overview

PhatNotes for Outlook is a special version of the award-winning notes organizer for Microsoft Windows based Pocket PC and Smartphone that allows synchronization directly with Microsoft Outlook 2000 or later. You can create notes providing them with category, subject, creation and modification date, which helps to find required information quickly and easily. With PhatNotes you can search for specific text in a specific field and sort notes by category, date, or subject. Interface to the Contacts Database enables you to pick an e-mail address instead of typing it in. While context analyzer allows to open URLs, send emails, and dial phone numbers embedded in your notes with a single tap or a keystroke. PhatNotes uses a compressed database, saving limited storage space. The intuitive, easy user interface lets you start using the program within minutes.

The new version offers many new advanced features including file attachments, hyperlinks between notes, multiple notes database support with tree-like views, hierarchical notes organizer, integration with PhatPad, customizable views, user reminders, voice note attachments, context analyzer, Windows Vista support and more.

Very good, but a bit expensive when you add extras

This is a good program. It integrates well with Outlook and has good search facilities. These were the two points I was looking for in a notes application. I'm amazed at how few applications actually sync with Outlook notes. The problem I have is that it's missing two features which I think it should have (and which are in the standard Notes PPC application). These are Handwritten notes and the Recognize function. However, if you want these "standard" features in this application, you need to to fork out an extra $30 for PhatPad (handwritten notes) and THEN, if you want the Recognize function, you need to spend a further $30 on Calligraphy. It just seems over the top to me, that if you want a complete replacement for the standard Notes program, you need to spend $90!

everything that i ever need to sync with outlook notes

im the same person who sent it the previous review, and i must apologize to everyone. i was quite drastic, and making a review without waiting first for support from phatware. now, that ive gotten over the "speed hog thing" (ive moved my notes folder from the exchange server to my local hard drive), everything went without a hitch. able to sync multiple folders? perfect!!! in order to make up for my previous post, im even willing to give it more than 5 stars... moreso, ive just gotten through completing a purchase...

a speed HOG

my outlook notes folder is at present 346 items... and i use my mobile device with my home computer, and desktop computer... whenever i go to work in the morning, and sync with my office computer, it TAKES forever JUST to find out what has changed between the mobile device's hpc database, and that of my outlook folder... ive already contacted the developer, and am awaiting for a response...
