Girders will put your engineering skills to the test. You must build bridges across ever widening gaps to take the weight of a fully loaded train. Should your bridge collapse; you will have to hope that the passengers can swim faster than the sharks in the water below!

Girders now includes a level editor for the bridge building mode. Create your own levels to improve your skills or challenge friends.

The game also features a tower building mode where you must build a tower of the required size from base points on the ground. As your towers get higher they will be increasingly effected by the wind. Some towers will also need to be build in earthquake zones, these need to be especially strong to stay up.

Bridges Excellent, Towers Not-So-Great

Professional Reviewers all rave, but they obviously haven't finished. I was engaged and challenged by the bridges- couldn't put it down, but the towers proved unsatisfying. Testing is too arbitrary- a tower fails and you can sometimes pass by simply retesting without making changes. In fact I've found the later towers can only pass by luck- I'm convinced I've built the strongest possible tower and it still comes instantly tumblin' down. Tried making a thinner & lighter tower, a fatter & beefier tower, longer girders, shorter girders- nothing seems to work. Can't just give up and go on to the next challenge, as the software won't allow- another defect in my estimation. I'd welcome a web site with solutions posted. I'd also like to see add-on packages made available.

A good game, well implemented

This is a great way to kill some time particularly if you have a slight scientific or engineering bent. Since it was designed for the p series phones it uses the touch-screen technology very well. As with all of SmartMobile games you get lots of updates and support. The full game gets pretty difficult and has you building some pretty large structures. Good fun and good value IMO.
