Jeode for ipaq 3760: just "plug'n play" !

on Mar 20, 2003 - I bought it from handango 30 minutes ago and, still very sceptic, downloaded and installed it on my 3760. Then i fired IE and made the final test: PocketIE starts searching.... stops with a white screen (What??? no vnc login? nooooooo!!!!) "k7800:5800 not found." Wait! TightVNC server was not running.... uffff! let's start it.... ok... Another go... White screen.... ta ta ta ta !!!! VNC login page!!!! enter password.... white screen... 2 seconds...3 seconds....Wow!!!!!!: Plain k7800 on ipaq's screen with scroolbars!!! just cool!!!! Resuming: Jeode is "very worth it's money" piece of code! Now it's time to develop other stuff of my own. Any special notes i should be aware of? what should i use to develop for your VM? Thinking why i'm not using vncviewer arm binaries? Because none works on my ipaq! You can get both windows binaries(server) and, optionally, the java binaries(client). Get this product (dell axim version!), install, point PocketIE, (see server options for port settings) and you're on! If you need more help you can reach me at teclas911@vizzavi.pt. Please tell everybody this version DOES WORK on IPAQ 3760. I believe it works on other ipaq models that weren't blessed with java. Just great!

on Jan 29, 2003 - This version of Jeode runs with any Pocket PC, even though they say it doesn't. Nearly all Applets worked for me. The only problem is, that the standard Internet Explorer of Windows CE cannot start jars the way they are distributed in the net (small modification necessary)

Runs Java Applications and Applets no problem

on Jan 28, 2003 - Works great on my Toshiba e740. I can run applets on a number of mobile web sites. I've downloaded several java applications including games like CrissCross and Blimpman. Thanks to the DAC, this Personal Java implementation is fast. This installation includes two demo apps that show how surprisingly fast full screen java animations run on a PocketPC. This is a good application for getting dynamic behavior from a mobile website through applets since Pocket Internet Explorer doesn't support Javascript.
