Measuring your blood pressure can help you and your doctor prevent or control hypertension and its many complications. Blood pressure readings in the doctor's office may be higher than at other times. The use of home blood pressure monitors can more accurately measure one's overall, or average, blood pressure level.

We suggest that persons over age of 40 begin keeping a daily log of their blood pressure readings. Measuring your own pressure is neither expensive nor difficult. It's a good idea to take readings at different times of day, in case there is a difference between morning and evening values. The Blood Pressure Tracker simplifies blood pressure and heart rate data logging. The software automatically saves systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, and time of measurement. In addition to being a convenient data logger the software is also a voluble tool for blood pressure longitudinal trends analysis. This longitudinal analysis may help you and your doctor decide on the best medicine and help adjust daily drug dosage.

on Nov 15, 2005; BP Tracker for Pocket PC is and excellent program for any hypertensive like me who needs to keep an eye on their blood pressure and record the data over a period of time. I have used this program for 4 months with great ease. The latest version 4.3.3 fixes all the issues mentioned by other reviewers with addition of the ability to add notes in free text to the .csv file and a variable data point size to display in the graph making it much easier to read when a large amount of data is displayed. The introduction of BP Tracker for PC is an excellent addition, whereas the Pocket PC version is useful to collect the data especially for anyone who travels, the desktop version can import the .csv file directly from ?My Pocket PC Documents? via ?ActiveSync? and display them in graphical, calendar and data file format on screen. From this screen it is possible to directly print a graph for anything from 7 days to 10 years with variable data point sizes to suit ones own taste, which very useful to take to ones own doctor for discussion and much easier than converting .csv data into an Excel graph. Data can be printed as a list of records in a text file directly from the program. Historic data can also be imported as a .csv file and displayed or printed in the same manner. The service from Sound Tells Support is First Class, having sent an email with my comments about these two programs I received a reply within a few hours and after some further short dialog an updated version taking the comments into account was released a few days later.

I need to watch my BP closely and like the other reviewers have found this to be the most convenient means of doing this and keeping an eye on trends. Easy to back up upload to PC and very few key/stylus strokes needed. An excellent product and probably a lifesaver.
