This preference panel was written by a member of the Handspring Treo software development team, but was just too late to make it into the ROM. It allows you to assign an application to the four opt+app buttons as well as the app launched when powering on by opening the lid or pressing the jog key. You can also disable the app-launching function for any of these items.

Download includes five language versions: English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish

Note: There is a known bug with the Launcher which causes it to advance categories each time it is started by any means other than the original four unmodified application keys. This bug will occur when assigning the Launcher to any item in Buttons-T.

Notice: Handspring's GPRS upgrade includes a "Buttons 2" preference panel in ROM which is identical to "Buttons-T". Please contact Handspring for any support issues regarding "Buttons 2" or "Buttons-T" if you have installed the GPRS upgrade.

(You may safely delete "Buttons-T" from the launcher either before or after installing the GPRS upgrade)

I just changed two buttons but they save me having to go the applications page.

This great program allows you to change the functionality of the buttons on my TREO 300. With this program my TREO/telephone handheld becomes a lot user friendlier.

Awesome simple little program that allows you to do something that the Treo should already have allowed. You can change your button assignments. It does what is says, and does it right.
