There are many applications that protect access to PDAs, but almost all
of them use passwords or PINs to authenticate the user to his or her device.
SignWise use personal hand-written signature to authenticate.
Signatures are much more secure than passwords or PINs in that
they cannot be lost, forgotten, or shoulder-surfed,
and are extremely difficult to forge.

on May 13, 2004 - A must buy software, it protect your PDA & file in PPC with your own sign not like other apps that use a password that anyone might be guessing. The first time i try this apps i know i must have it. Now i do and its still the best apps in my Pocket PC.

on Dec 16, 2003 - It also offers the possibility to encrypt any files on your (PDA memory and SD) using your signature. What I like most is (1) the possibility to use your own .bmps and .wavs to customize the look & feel. (2) the commitment of the developers to improve the product. I reported a bug and they had it fixed it within 2 days. Great job, great product

on Jul 24, 2003 - Security is often a balance between convenience and protection. If the protection is too inconvenient, it won't be used; too little, and it's worthless. SignWise appears to have solved this problem. The program relies on signature recognition, a pseudo-biometric. Every time you turn on your PDA, a pad appears and you simply write your signature on the pad. No typing, no remembering of yet another password. I like it. The progam is relatively easy to set up (you write your signature 3 times, then verify) and use. The parameters are fully adjustable for wrong-password timeouts, instant-on, etc. It even comes with a password for the ActiveSync connection. The program is relatively easy to use and understand, except for a few small parts. The only thing I didnt like was that there was no documentation. The first time the ActiveSynch password came up, I was stymied. The password is ajdustabe in the configuration and is automatic, which is another feature I don't really want and I wish I could disable (convenience vs. security)., as I feel that I just don't need it at my home-cradle. All-in-all it's a very good security program for the PDA.
