Just ok...

on Oct 7, 2009 - I got this since I usually have my phone more than my iPod. At best, it's OK. People calling RE-raises with J-3 off, will hit a pair of 3s, and call down hundreds of dollars of bets on boards where "mortals" would have folded long ago. If they bet or call a bet, you can be sure the opponent caught a piece of the flop/turn/river...have never seen a true bluff in all the hands I've called down. Also VERY hard to push an opponent off a hand....like noted above, will call down an all in with a pair of threes. Will call down almost any raise/re-raise with two pair, so if you have a Full House, Flush, Straight or trips/3-of-a-kind, bet it out as you'll make money. I sometimes wonder how "honest" the algorithm is since I've been down to heads-up 5 times, and have never won an all-in, even with a straight or 3 of a kind. I give it 3 out of 5 because, if nothing else, the erratic play will keep you guessing.

Best Texas Hold'em product I could find for BlackBerry

on Dec 21, 2007 - Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I tried two other Texas Hold'em games but they were very limited. The default action when it comes up your turn is "fold" I have accidently clicked this a number of times - I wish there was an option / dialogue to confirm folding because of this. I am new to this game and have had to set all the players to the highest level to make the game interesting after only a few hours of playing. Otherwise, it was too easy to win. Other than that, no complaints, and I will get many hours of enjoyment out of this game.

Excellent!

on Nov 30, 2007 - I have had this as just about the only game on my Blackberry for several months -- it's a great way to kill time on the go, especially as it will automatically save your game when you exit. Computer players can be programmed with different difficulty levels and bankrolls (For a fun time, try creating a "masterful miser" together with a "dead money" spendthrift, etc...) It has definitely kept me honest in my poker strategy! One notable drawback is that I've never known a computer player to bluff at any level, so this element of the game suffers, although computer players aren't always so easily fooled. All in all I have found this to have great entertainment and replay value. Maybe blackjack is next?
