HotPaw Basic is a full-featured and easy to use programming environment which allows you to develop and execute small Basic language programs directly on your PalmOS handheld. HotPaw Basic has many features including - over 75 functions and 30 commands built-in - execution of Basic programs contained in your MemoPad - sound and graphics commands, including color and built-in 2d and 3d plot commands - custom form creation with user definable buttons, fields and checkboxes - access to several standard database formats (JFile, HanDBase and List) instead of a proprietary format - programmable ToDo, Datebook appointment and alarm creation - serial port and infrared (SIR) access - 30 day free trial. Included example programs include a loan payment calaculator and a simple animation example. Version 1.3.8 added built-in 2d plot commands. Version 1.4.0 added an equation solver command. Version 1.4.1 adds the new ITU @ Morse code character, and some internal fixes for preliminary Cobalt/OS 6 compatibility. Version 1.4.4 adds Alphasmart Dana support, an old-fashioned console mode, enhanced VFS support, and a fix for some Treo 600 form focus problems.

Too good to be true? No, it really is excellent!!

This is truly an excellent product. It also comes with good documentation and an active support forum which seems to give speedy responses. If the error handling were improved this would be fantastic instead of just excellent.

A Serious programming tool!

Wow! I had no idea that this was such a SERIOUS programming environment. Color support, extendable, and interfaces to Palm OS 5! Not only can this be used for prototyping but for actual application development. Now I can write code just about anywhere!
